I live in an old place. When I moved in, the standard new construction wipe down didn’t work to get the years of neglect addressed. Yes, this place was really bad. The woman who lived here before us was old and bound to a wheel chair. Lots of areas had caked on grease, food particles, cobwebs etc. I often feel sad when I notice another thing needing to be addressed after several years of neglect. It just shows how we all need a little help sometimes to appreciate what we have!
Here’s a pic of the after on my kitchen floors and stove. The floors are old. The stove is older. Both have had layers of grime and old oils just caked into it. It’s one of those things where you feel dirty just brushing up against the stove… or like you never wanted to take your shoes off when you walked into the kitchen at first. But not anymore. I didn’t really want to address these two chores on my Ta-Da-List until I could cultivate a little more GRATITUDE. Yes, Gratitude is absolutely necessary in order to appreciate anything!
I just started feeling so grateful for this place, and the amount of space we now have in our family. Thank goodness we are no longer in an apartment. The kids have their own space. Us adults get to work out of our home in our own offices. It’s wonderful. Cleaning the floors and the stove became something delightful to do during my break today.
Heading into another session shortly… I’m looking forward to appreciating my clients + delivering the appreciation with grace, sincerity, wisdom + ease.
Have a wonderful day APPRECIATING your life! Namaste.
