The first and basic chakra is referred to as the Root chakra. It rests at the base of the spine and channels energy from the magnetic field of the earth’s core. This energy moves up through the feet and legs. It energizes blood, tissues and skeletal system, stimulating aggressive survival instinct. This anchors our spirit on this material world.
Located on the upper end of each kidney is the adrenal cortex, which is the storehouse of ancestral intuition we inherit from birth.. The Root chakra governs the adrenal cortex along with it’s qualities that have helped our ancestors survive. Such qualities are: courage, stamina and resilience.
The entire birthing & beginnings processes are also governed by the Root chakra. The ability to take action upon our survival instincts is an important attribute of a healthy Root chakra, and is necessary for securing new life’s safe passage into full development. With a strong connection to the Root chakra, a normal birthing & beginnings process in life is assured.
In an unconscious [unawakened] state, Root chakra holds predispositions, attitudes and prejudice formed by family, culture and church. As these barriers are erased through developing awareness, more energy is available to live the Authentic life of your dreams.
The Root Chakra, Muldahara is the corresponding chakra of the season Beginnings. Read more here.
