“Just remember, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do everything and the wrong way is to keep trying to make everybody else do it the right way.” M*A*S*H, Colonel Potter
Today’s Inspired Action: When working with INNER CRITIC VOICES…do the Colonel Potter… focus on you!
Today’s inspired action is about that old zen teaching… [you’ve heard it before…] where you point your finger out there at someone who needs to shift, and three fingers [of your own hand] are returning the message pointing back in your direction.
Today let’s make it simple. If you want something to be done, release it at that. But If you want something done “your way”… validate that you are where this voice is coming from; it’s your very own inner critic. The inner critic is well aware WHY she wants things done her way, even if you are not. Maybe she has been too busy criticizing in her own mind how people don’t do it right. She knows “how to do it right”. Why is she insisting on having her way? Does she feel things are too out-of-control?
Today is the day to free yourself and others from your misunderstandings. I tell you the truth, when you own your own drama… your relationships get a heck of a lot better. [if they are great now… they are bound for fabulous!] And the first step to owning your own drama is knowing it always starts with identifying the voice of your own inner critics.
